[EN] Despite the fact that sectorial advisory councils have existed in Spain for decades, it is unknown whether there are major differences between them in terms of their functioning and results. This research seeks to contribute to a better empirical understanding of the reality of these mechanisms and to establish whether any of the cases analyzed could be considered as successful and exemplary. Using up to five dimensions of evaluation, the scores obtained by each council based on objective (institutional design) and subjective indicators (satisfaction of its participants) will be compared. The results indicate that none of the cases in the sample is a clear example of success. At the same time, it is evident that the councils focused on a specific theme (education) and a specific territorial level (the regional one) achieve, on the whole and significantly, the best scores

[ES] Pese a que los consejos consultivos sectoriales existen en España desde hace décadas, se desconoce si entre ellos existen grandes diferencias en cuanto a su funcionamiento y resultados. Esta investigación busca contribuir empíricamente a un mejor conocimiento de la realidad de dichos mecanismos y establecer si alguno de los casos analizados podría ser considerado como exitoso y modélico. Utilizando hasta cinco dimensiones de evaluación, compararemos las puntuaciones obtenidas por cada consejo en base a indicadores objetivos (diseño institucional) y subjetivos (satisfacción de sus participantes). Los resultados indican que ningún caso de la muestra sería un claro ejemplo de éxito. A su vez, queda patente que los consejos de una determinada temática (educación) y nivel territorial (autonómico) son, en conjunto y de forma significativa, los que mejores puntuaciones alcanzan
