El médico en la Edad Media

Abstract

Uno de los momentos más fecundos de la vida intelectual europea fue el que correspondió al siglo XIII y por lo que respecta al mundo médico, las aproximadamente cien años que transcurrieron entre 1520 y los años centrales del suglo XIV. Durante estos cien años tuvo lugar la plena incorporación del mundo científico griego y árabe, cuya oferta intelectual posibilitó a los circulos intelectuales latinos un abordaje racional del mundo natural y sus fenómenos -entre ellos la salud y la enfermedad-, preguntandose por primera vez en la história de la Europa medieval cristiana acerca cristiana acerca de las causas naturales de éstos.
