Abstract

Decisiones de la primera Asamblea de Roma celebrada en 1914, donde se llegó al acuerdo de convenir un plan común de investigaciones en Oceanografía y biología marina en el Mediterraneo para una mejor explotación pesquera y a la conveniencia de celebrar una asamblea definitiva en Madrid en 1915, donde se ratificarían los acuerdos de la Asamblea de Roma de 1914. Se crea el Instituto Español de Oceanografía, encomendandole que sus trabajos se asociarán a las Comisiones Internacionales del Mediterraneo y del Atlantico. - Recoge los acuerdos de la segunda Asamblea de Roma de 1919.Se nombra al Instituto Español de Oceanografía organizador de una futura conferencia en Madrid para desarrollar los acuerdos tomados en la Asamblea de Roma. Se configura la Conferencia de Madrid dividiéndola en cinco subcomisiones de investigación: química del mar, mareografía, meteorología marina, corrientes, biología. Resalta la importancia de las decisiones de la primera Asamblea de Roma para los temas a estudiar por las subcomisiones de la Conferencia de Madrid en Hidrología y Biología, organización de las Comisiones, trabajo de las estaciones costeras, etc.
