Abstract

[EN] Pear variety "Agua de Aranjuez" presented a low percentage of setting when self-pollinated. This variety has shown an increased set of fruit when cross-pollinated with 12 different varieties. "Roma" variety has produced the lowest percentage of setting in cross-pollination. Account is taken of the triploid constitution of the clon used as pollinator. Because of the local importance of the Roma variety it's advisable to try pollen of diploid clones of this variety. Good pollinator for "Agua de Aranjuez" have proved to be : Castell, Buena Luisa de Avranches, Azúcar Verde, Abbé Fétel.
