Distribución cuántica de claves: luces y sombras

Abstract

Los futuros ordenadores cuánticos suponen una amenaza seria a la seguridad de los criptosistemas actuales, basados en la dificultad computacional de ciertas operaciones matemáticas. Con su ayuda la factorización y el logaritmo discreto pasarían a ser operaciones realizables en tiempo polinómico, lo que afectaría catastróficamente a la seguridad de los sistemas de clave asimétrica. Consecuentemente, los protocolos de distribución de claves basados en ellos quedarían totalmente comprometidos. Como solución alternativa se ha propuesto recientemente una colección de protocolos de generación y distribución de claves, basados en procesos físicos cuánticos, que garantizan incondicionalmente la confidencialidad de las claves. En esta charla se analizará la seguridad de estos protocolos, poniendo de manifiesto sus limitaciones, señalando que si bien la confidencialidad está absolutamente garantizada, la autenticidad es un problema aún no satisfactoriamente resuelto.
