[EN] The following research is based on the analysis of two fragments of African lamps which were found during the excavation works in the curia of Carthago Nova (Cartagena, Spain). Both feature the manufacturer’s signature and its partial preservation has not hindered the identification of his full name: IVNI ALEXI and M NOV IVST. Its discovery within a sealed up stratigraphical context allows us to set out a new proposal about its chronology
[ES] El siguiente estudio se centra en el análisis de dos fragmentos de lucerna de origen africano aparecidos en las excavaciones de la curia de Carthago Nova (Cartagena, España). Ambos contienen la firma del productor y su conservación parcial no ha impedido la identificación del nombre completo: IVNI ALEXI y M NOV IVST. Su hallazgo en un contexto estratigráfico cerrado permite plantear una nueva propuesta sobre su cronología.
