Manejo del riego en el cultivo del almendro afectado por heladas

Abstract

El aumento de la superficie de almendro implica su extensión hacia áreas afectadas por heladas. Esto ha sido parcialmente solucionado con variedades de floración tardías y extra tardías. Sin embargo, los efectos del cambio climático (heladas más tardías e intensas) pueden seguir siendo un problema en estas zonas geográficas. Existe gran incertidumbre en cómo manejar el riego en estas condiciones, principalmente cuando la carga de fruto es escasa y los recursos hídricos limitados. Este ensayo, realizado en una plantación comercial de almendro afectado por heladas, evaluó el efecto de 3 niveles hídricos durante 1 campaña sobre el comportamiento fisiológico del cultivo. En estas condiciones, uno de los tratamientos aplicados mostró diferencias significativas en términos fisiológicos. No obstante, es necesario continuar con este tipo de investigaciones para determinar el efecto de diferentes niveles hídricos sobre los parámetros productivos del almendro a lo largo de varios años.
