El sector de los neumáticos enfrenta desafíos, como pinchazos, con importantes consecuencias económicas. La solución propuesta es el macizado con poliuretanos elastoméricos, especialmente para vehículos que operan en condiciones extremas. La investigación se centró en desarrollar poliuretanos con alta elasticidad y resistencia a compresiones intensas. Se prepararon una serie de formulaciones modificando su composición, y además otras en las que se incorporaron residuos de poli(etilen tereftalato) (PET) y caucho para promover la sostenibilidad y la Economía Circular. Se analizó la densidad de entrecruzamiento mediante la técnica avanzada de resonancia magnética nuclear de campo bajo (MQ-NMR), el dominio del tiempo, y se realizaron pruebas mecánicas para evaluar las prestaciones de los materiales y caracterizarlos con más exhaustividad. Este enfoque no solo aborda la problemática de los pinchazos, sino también contribuye a revalorizar residuos, destacando la viabilidad técnica y ambiental de los poliuretanos sintetizados.
The tire industry faces challenges, such as punctures, leading to significant economic consequences. The proposed solution is the use of elastomeric polyurethane filling, especially for vehicles operating in extreme conditions. The research focused on developing polyurethanes with high elasticity and resistance to intense compressions. A series of formulations were prepared by modifying their composition, and others incorporated poly(ethyleneterephtalate) (PET) and rubber residues to promote sustainability and Circular Economy. The crosslink density was analysed using the advanced low-field magnetic resonance (NMR) technique in the time domain, and mechanical tests were conducted to assess material performance and characterize them more comprehensively. This approach not only addresses the issue of punctures but also contributes to the valorisation of waste, highlighting the technical and environmental feasibility of the synthesized polyurethanes.
