Electrolitos sólidos poliméricos y baterías recargables

Abstract

In the context of the global energy situation, we review some aspects of energy storage through rechargeable batteries, both alkali metal and metal-ion (M = Li, Na). After a historical note of the development of lithium ion batteries, some of the alternatives to obtain batteries with practical use are evaluated (such as those based on sodium ion or alkali metal batteries—lithium or sodium—). The different types of electrolytes are also mentioned, from ‘traditional’ ones to more recently introduced alternatives. Finally, some aspects of the use of solid electrolytes in rechargeable batteries are presented; mainly those based on polymers and polymer gels. Some results recently obtained in our research group are described
