La perspectiva de género en la antropología social clásica

Abstract

La antropología social como disciplina científica, igual que otras ciencias sociales, no ha permanecido ajena a la influencia de diferentes prejuicios teóricos en sus objetivos, intereses, métodos y técnicas de análisis desde su gestación hasta su consolidación como disciplina científica. Algunos de estos fueron el etnocentrismo y el androcentrismo, los cuales causaron una notable distorsión en la mirada antropológica.El presente artículo va a centrarse en el androcentrismo, en la distorsión de la mirada antropológica sobre la construcción de género: el objetivo del análisis consistirá en recuperar las apreciaciones de los antropólogos más influyentes de la disciplina respecto a la manera de pensar los sexos en las culturas que estudiaron para poder comprender los lastres que arrastró la disciplina respecto a la manera de interpretar las relaciones entre los hombres y las mujeres. Como veremos, el impacto de esta distorsión fue desigual tanto entre los antropólogos como en su teorización en los campos más influyentes de la antropología (parentesco, política, economía y religión), si bien la mayoría tuvo en común ciertos razonamientos empleados para justificar la desigualdad sexual.
