Abstract

[EN] Faced with the religious approach usually used when defining the situation of Christians in al-Andalus, a political approach is offered here. The management of the religious buildings of non-Muslim groups throughout the 8th, 9th and 10th centuries is taken as a common thread, with special attention to the Umayyad capital: Córdoba. I present two types of Muslim attitude towards the churches and synagogues: one policy, exercised by the Umayyad power from the moment of the conquest, and another socio-religious one, which emerged from the 9th century and which has the ulema as animators, which it will seek, without too much success, to influence the former.
