Abstract

[ES]La invención se refiere al uso de fosforotioatos análogos de nucleósido cíclicos o bien de derivados de nucleósidos acíclicos de fórmula (1)o (lB) que tienen actividad farmacológica como inhibidores de la enzima retrotranscriptasa (RT) y a su uso en terapia, en particular están dirigidos al tratamiento de infecciones causadas por el virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH). Estos compuestos son particularmente efectivos cuando la RT presenta combinaciones de mutaciones que confieren al VIH resistencia a los fármacos inhibidores de la RT.

[EN]The invention relates to the use of cyclic nucleoside analogue phosphorothioates or acyclic nucleoside derivatives having formula (I) or (IB), which are pharmacologically-active inhibitors of the reverse transcriptase enzyme (RT) and to the use thereof in therapy, particularly for the treatment of infections caused by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Said compounds are particularly effective when the RT has combinations of mutations that render HIV resistant to RT-inhibitor drugs.
