Abstract

[EN] The «relaciones de sucesos», humble precedent of the journalism, offer a very rich source and by exploiting for the Hispanic modern history. At the end of the 16th century, the interest was focused on the fight against the Turkish Empire with the «long war» of Hungary (1593-1606) that faced the emperor Rudolph II and the prince of Transylvania Zsigmond Bathory against the Ottoman. We will pay attention to the mechanisms of diffusion of the news to the Sevillian press of Rodrigo de Cabrera, where the majority of the relations were released, and the role performed by the Jesuits as transmitters and creators of opinión. This will be put in relation to the embassy of the prince of Transylvania to Philip II in 1596 and the premiere of «The prodigious Transylvanian prince», attributed to Lope de Vega. The play does not only offer a model image of the Christian prince, but their sources are clearly these relations of events.
