Tesauro ISOC de Topónimos 2003

Abstract

[EN] Third edition of the ISOC Thesaurus of place names. Collects approximately 26,000 terms related to administrative and political entities around the world. In Spain the hierarchical structure is developed to the level of municipality, the smallest administrative unit common to the entire Spanish State. In Latin American countries, the development is equivalent, which makes that the vast majority of the terms belong to this geographical area. Countries of the old EEC are developed until the third administrative level with the capitals of each and the cities over 100,000 inhabitants. The rest of the world only has the cities with more than one million inhabitants, except in the case of United States, which also displayed the different states with their capitals.
