Transformación diagenética esmectita-I/S en sedimentos continentales paleógenos (Valle Calchaquí norte, Salta, Argentina)

Abstract

Este trabajo forma parte de las investigaciones que se están llevando a cabo para lograr una mayor comprensión de la evolución de la cuenca de antepaís en la zona del valle Calchaquí. En cuanto al estudio mineralógico, se han realizado análisis mediante difracción de rayos-X de más de 80 muestras de niveles pelítico-limolíticos, correspondientes a tres perfiles: Tin Tin, Saladillo y Cerro Bayo, los cuales evidenciaron marcadas diferencias en las asociaciones de minerales de arcilla.
