Expresión de genes de oleosina en el olivo (Olea europaea L.) y su uso potencial como marcador molecular de variedades

Abstract

Se han llevado a cabo análisis de Southern blot e hibridación in situ para determinar la presencia de genes de oleosina en hojas y anteras de olivo (Olea europaea L.) de la variedad Picual, así como los niveles de expresión de dichos genes durante los diferentes estadios de desarrollo de la antera. Los resultados de Southern sugieren la presencia de una familia multigénica de oleosinas en el olivo. Por otro lado, se pone de manifiesto que la transcripción de los genes de oleosinas comienza durante la división meiótica y los transcritos resultantes aparecen tanto en el tejido esporofítico (tapetum) como en el gametofítico (microsporas y polen) de la antera. Actualmente se llevan a cabo estudios en distintos cultivares con objeto de determinar si existen diferencias en cuanto a la presencia y contenido de dichas proteínas. Estos estudios permitirán comprobar si las oleosinas podrían ser utilizadas como marcadores moleculares para la distinción de variedades y en los programas de mejora vegetal.
