Caracterización de una saponita con vistas a su activación ácida.

Abstract

La saponita es un filosilicato tip0 2:l triocta6dric0, en el que iones Mg(I1) ocupan las posiciones octa6dricas. Su f6rmula mineraldqica es Al,] [Mg3-y (A1 ,Fe) ] 010 (OH) (MI~,~ *nH20) , que deriva de la f6rmula te6rica del talco Si4 Mg3 010 (OH)z. En la variedad ferrosa de la saponita una determinada cantidad de Fe(I1, 111) sustituye a1 Mg(I1) octabdrico, siendo esta sustituci6n importante a partir de una relaci6n Mg/Fetotal de 5:l. La estructura de la saponita es muy similar a la de la beidellita y la vermiculita. Suquet (1975) encontrd que presenta celdillas unidad monoclinicas, de dimensiones aproximadas de 5x9 A, P=97-100' y un espaciado interlaminar de unos 15 A, Las propiedades adsorbentes de este silicato estdn siendo bastante estudiadas en Los dltimos aiios (Suquet, 1975; Watanabe & Sato, 1988).
