[ES] El Tesauro ICYT de Biología Animal es el resultado de un largo período de trabajo, iniciado en 1989 en la Unidad de Producción Científica Española del entonces Instituto de Información y Documentación en Ciencia y Tecnología (ICYT) del CSIC, posteriormente Centro de Información y Documentación Científica (CINDOC) y actualmente Instituto de Estudios Documentales sobre Ciencia y Tecnología (IEDCYT). El Tesauro nació de la necesidad concreta de normalizar, actualizar y estructurar los términos científicos utilizados para el análisis documental en el campo de la Biología Animal. Es el primer tesauro sobre Biología Animal creado en lengua española.
[EN] This Thesaurus is the result of a long term work begun in 1989 in the Spanish Scientific Production Unit of the former Institute of Information and Documentation on Science and Technology (ICYT-CSIC), then the Centre for Scientific Information and Documentation (CINDOC) and currently Institute of Documentary Studies on Science and Technology (IEDCYT). The Thesaurus was born from a true need to standardize, update and organize scientific terms used for documental analysis in the field of the Animal Biology. It´s the first thesaurus on Animal Biology created in Spanish.
