Abstract

In the spring of in 1994 and 1995, a total of 777 lobster juveniles raised in the Centro de Experimentación Pesquera installations were tagged and released near Cape Torres (Asturias). Survival after the tagging was 100% for the 12-month-old individuals released in 1994 and tagged 11-33 days before there were set free. For the 6-month-old lobsters released in 1995, survival varied between 96.11%, 43 days after they were tagged and 93.62 %, 90 days after (retention percentages 90.44 % and 88.64 %, respectively). Mortality caused by transport was low, estimated between 0 % and 5.7 % depending on the release.
