The reproductive performance of a group of Seriola dumerili broodstock kept in captivity in the Canary Islands was studied, and data from spontaneous spawning during 5 consecutive years between 2002 and 2006 were collected. The spawning period was always similar, beginning in March and ending in the first half of October. The number of total eggs obtained by year ranged between 6,1 y 16,4x106. The percentage of fertilization was always bigger than 50%, while the hatching rate was lower than 30% but increased throughout the years. The results of this study indicate that the spawning quality of the group of seriola broodstock did not change during 5 spawning seasons.
