En memoria de Paco Fernández Cortés En un trabajo publicado en 2019 se afirma: "A pesar de la importancia económica y sociocultural del marisqueo en Galicia, el conocimiento del sector es aún muy limitado. De hecho, una búsqueda en Web of Science -usando ´mariscos` y ´Galicia`como términos de búsqueda- en artículos, libros y actas de congresos publicados entre 1900 y finales de 2017 recuperó solo 98 registros (el primero data de 1993) para una media de cuatro registros por año".
