Sales nutrientes y mareas rojas

La riqueza de las aguas marinas en las zonas templadas de nuestro planeta, durante la mayor parte del año, depende de la llegada de sales nutrientes a la capa fótica. Un ejemplo de ello es lo que ocurre en las costas de Galicia, como se recoge en la revisión sobre el tema de las sales nutrientes en las rías gallegas hecho por Prego (1990). La circulación del agua en las rías, los aportes fluviales y el afloramiento (Prego y Fraga, 1992) juegan un papel decisivo en la fertilización de esas aguas costeras
