Soberanía alimentaria y Cambio climático: una lectura desde los informes del IPCC

Abstract

La propuesta de la soberanía alimentaria cuyos pilares están cimentados en la agroecología, los circuitos cortos de comercialización, el conocimiento local y tradicional, la justicia social y alimentaria y una democratización de los sistemas alimentarios para alcanzar el derecho humano a la alimentación, supone una oportunidad para hacer frente a la emergencia climática y los retos asociados. Así, la soberanía alimentaria nos aporta herramientas tanto para la mitigación del cambio climático a partir de la captura de carbono y la reducción de la deforestación asociada al modelo industrial, como para la adaptación, a través de la reducción de las desigualdades en el sistema alimentario, la adopción de estrategias que a través de la diversificación y manejos del suelo y la agrobiodiversidad hacen el agroecosistema más resiliente, el desarrollo de modelos de gobernanza locales próximos a las actrices y actores del sistema alimentario. A partir de los informes publicados por el Panel Intergubernamental de Cambio Climático (IPCC) relacionados con la agricultura y la alimentación, describiré esta cercana relación entre la soberanía alimentaria y la emergencia climática, siendo la primera una propuesta política con herramientas diversas que permiten de forma eficiente hacer frente a dicha emergencia
