Abstract

En 1789, la Corona española decreta la libre introducción de esclavos en Cuba. Por entonces, la isla está empezando a cimentar su futuro como colonia productora de azúcar. En este trabajo se analizan los registros de entrada de africanos en La Habana entre aquel año, 1789, y 1820 en el que, sobre el papel y de manera supuesta, la Corona había accedido a abolir la trata.
