Abstract

This article analyse the organisation and development of this Madrid congress paying attention to three questions. Firstly, the pre-eminence that Gregorio Marañón held. Secondly, the relisation of the situation of the discipline of the history of medicine in the Spanish and international pnorama throught the presentation of the communications that were debated there. Finally, we underline the echoes that this scientific event caused in the public domain of these times, thanks, among other reasons, to the fact that it was accompanied an exhibition of four displays that showed the dense historical-medical patrimony cared for in Spanish and foreign institutions.
