Las mujeres del medio rural y su participación en la actividad económica

Abstract

En este artículo, analizamos la participación de las mujeres en la economía del medio rural, utilizando para ellos diversas fuentes estadísticas (Censo Agrario, Censo de Población, Encuesta de Población Activa y Encuesta de Estructuras de las Explotaciones Agrarias). El análisis se aborda desde una doble perspectiva: midiendo su participación en la agricultura y los distintos subsectores del sistema alimentario, y analizando la presencia de las mujeres en el conjunto de la economía. Ello permite establecer un análisis comparativo, y plantear algunos de los factores que explican y condicionan la desigual situación de las mujeres del medio rural, respecto a su integración en la economía. Finalizamos planteando algunas recomendaciones tanto a las administraciones públicas como al sector empresarial, para favorecer la participación de las mujeres en la economía rural.
