Manufacture of carbon granules for use in microphones.

Abstract

[EN]Manufacture of carbon granules for use in microphones. In the present proposal, a base material is used that has a high carbon content (99 percent), low mineral material content (less than 2 percent ashes), and a high level of stiffness and chemical inertia, which considerably simplifies the preparation process. After successive operations of grinding/classification, a product is obtained with a particle size between 100-500 "[mu]"m, which is subjected to an elimination of fines, followed by a heat treatment at temperatures between 800 and 1200 degrees Celsius for 1-10 hours, depending on the heat conductivity desired (condition fixed by the manufacturer of the microphone.) The granules thus obtained, without having been subjected to stabilising treatment, once mounted on the microphone, have facilitated a stable and continuous signal, which has been maintained without alteration over time.
