Procedure for filtering effluents from biological treatment of residual urban water.

Abstract

[EN]Procedure for filtering effluents from biological treatment of residual urban water. This includes a filtering unit comprising a quick gravity or pressure filter with a zeolyte filtering material that is naturally rich in clinoptilolite, and using an air-water backwash system which uses part of the same filtered water for backwashing with air, providing a clean, stratified filter bed with little water in a short period of time. The procedure is able to filter effluents of residual urban water treated by biological treatment units such as activated sludge, anaerobic treatment reactors and oxidation lagoons.
