[ES] Esta breve nota analiza las principales aportaciones de José María López Piñero (1933-2010) a la historia de la psiquiatría, haciendo especial hincapié en la importancia historiográfica de Neurosis y psicoterapia, así como en la influencia nacional e internacional de su obra en el desarrollo de una historia conceptual de los síntomas mentales.
[EN] This paper analyzes the main contributions of José María López Piñero (1933-2010) to the history of psychiatry. It emphasizes the historiographical importance of his book Neurosis y psicoterapia, as well as the national and international influence of his work in the development of a conceptual history of mental symptoms.
