[ES] El presente trabajo analiza el proceso de recepción en España del degeneracionismo psiquiátrico en su aplicación al problema del alcoholismo. A través de textos españoles poco conocidos se valora la influencia de alienistas franceses como Valentin Magnan o Paul Maurice Legrain, considerados los grandes especialistas en alcoholismo de la época, así como la repercusión que en el campo de la Salud Pública y en las teorizaciones sobre estrategias preventivas, tuvo en nuestro país la relación entre degeneración y enfermedad etílica.
[EN] This paper analyses the psychiatric degeneracionism reception processing Spain in its aplication to the alcoholism problem. Through not well known spanish texts, it tries to valve the influence of french alienists, like Valentin Magnan or Paul Maurice Legrain, who are considered as the greatest alcoholism specialists, as well as the repercusion that had the relationship between degeneration and etilic illness in the Public Health field and in the theorizations about preventive strategies in our conutry.
