Abstract

[EN] General aspects of nitrate, silicate and phosphate dynamics are studied in summer for the ria of Muros. Data used corresponds to two sections sampled during august, 3 1984 (Galicia VIIl cruise) and september, 18 1986 (Galicia IX cruise).TS diagrams show the presence of Eastern North-Atlantic Central Water in the continental shelf. This water mass penetrate into the ria during august, but the southern wind in septernber prevent the upwelling. lsolines of higher nutrient concentrations and minimum oxygen values (7 μM of nitrate, 0.7 pM of phosphate, 5 μM of silicate and 190 μM02) are coinciding. They are grouped in two areas, the first one in the ria mouth, and another in the continental shelf. Under upwelling condictions, these areas are displaced near the surface and the coastline. Nitrate is the limiting nutrient and its main source is the upwelling,
