The Ría de La Coruña, is hidrologically a Ría?

Abstract

[EN] Hydrography of inner Ria de La Coruiia has been studied during 1993. The influence of freshwater in the ria is of little importance as compared to other Galician Rias. The outer area, as well as most of the inner area present a clear oceanic influence even during rainfall periods. Only the innermost part, in the neighborhood of Rio Mero outlet, maintain salinity changes that allow to consider it hydrologically as aria. The rest has to be considered as a bay of oceanic influence.
