Aplicaciones del radar a la Geodesia

Abstract

ÓN.-Lapalabra "Radar" adoptada recientemente por la Academia de la Lengua es una contracción de las palabras inglesas "Radio Detecting And Ranging". Se da el nombre genérico de "radar" a todo aparato que tiene por objeto localizar y medir las distancias a un determinado objeto, o bien al sistema empleado para ello cuando ambos están basados en procedimientos radioeléctricos. No es la primera vez que la radio es un poderoso auxiliar de la Geodesia; de todos es conocido el servicio que presta, proporcionando señales exactas de tiempo. En este trabajo examinaremos un nuevo horizonte de la ciencia radio eléctrica en lo que respecta a su aplicación a la medición de distancias.
