Determinación de los instantes de los contactos en el eclipse total de Sol de 25 de febrero de 1952 en Gogo (Guinea española)

Abstract

La circunstancia de pasar la línea de centralídad de este eclipse por los territorios españoles del Golfo de Guinea. hizo pensar a la Co~isión Nacional de Astronomía en la conveniencia de enviar una expedición con representantes de todos los Observatorios y Orqanismos españoles interesados en la observación de dicho eclipse. El acuerdo Iué adoptado a propuesta del Director del Observatorio de San Fernando Excmo. Sr. Almirante D. Wenceslao Benítez. iniciándose inmediatamente la preparación de los trabajos. El Seminario de Astronomía y Geodesia de la Universidad de Madrid. se adhirió desde el primer instante a la idea. encargándose de la determinación: de los instantes de los contactos. problema de tan gran interés desde el punto de vista geodésico. Nuestra aportación a la observación del eclipse ha sido posible gracias a la entusiasta y decidida colaboración del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas. que ha cargado con tonos los gastos originados.
