A diagnostic assay has been developed to detect African Swine Fever virus in field samples. It is based on the use of32P-DNA from pRPEL2 plasmid as a hybridization probe. This plasmid contains essentially the H-ClaI DNA fragment from the Spain-70 strain of African Swine Fever virus. © 1986 Springer-Verlag.
