Elementos de la órbita de la variable eclipsante V 499 Scorpionis

Abstract

La variable eclípsante V 499 Sco. fue estudiada por Hertzprung en 1941. Posteriormente, en los años 1952, 1953 Y 1956 se han hecho observaciones de la misma desde el Observatorio de Boyden, Sudáfrica. Estas observaciones y la curva de luz correspondiente han sido publicadas por G. G. 011ié y E. M. Líndsay (1). Se han diferenciado dos curvas de luz, una para el color azul y otra para el amaril1o. El período calculado es P = 2d3332977E, que concuerda, salvo en la última cifra, con el dado por Hertzprung. La estrel1a es del tipo ~ Lírae, pues tiene iguales los dos mínimos y su magnitud varía de 8m,O a 8m,4. La curva de luz indica que se trata de eclipses parciales, y siendo las profundidades de ambos mínimos casi iguales, se presupone que las dos estrel1as son prácticamente iguales de tamaño y luminosidad, aunque esto no concuerda exactamente con los resultados que ofrece el cálculo.
