El cálculo de posiciones aparentes de estrellas en un momento dado, a partir de sus coordenadas medias para una época dadas por un catálogo, es un problema que se presenta con gran frecuencia en los cálculos astronómicos. El disponer de computadores electrónicos nos proporciona un elemento de trabajo seguro y rápido. Vamos pues a establecer un programa de cálculo automático para la reducción de posiciones de estrellas. Para ellos utilizaremos un método basado en el uso de coordenadas eclípticas por parecernos el más adecuado.
