[EN] The invention relates to a novel electric induction furnace design that enables the removal of zinc-containing filter dust (PF) originating from the production of alloy or non-alloy steel and the production of cast iron with galvanised steel scrap, using a novel method based on the carbothermic reduction of the metal oxides present in the filter dust, performed at the temperature at which the materials are melted inside the electric induction furnace. According to the invention, the electric induction furnace includes an electric arc or plasma beam generator so that all of the inorganic non-metal material can be melted. The aforementioned generator also enables the use of large volumes of molten slag.
