Abstract

[EN]: Gender violence has been one of the biggest social scourges globally for years. Only in Spain in the last 20 years more than 1.000 women have been killed by their partners and/or ex-partners (Instituto Nacional de Estadística [INE], 2017); Delegación del Gobierno para la Violencia de Género [DGVG], 2019). For this reason, in order to eradicate it, research and study of this kind of violence and all related matters are fundamental. This research approaches the issue of gender violence from an academic and scientific perspective. The main goal is to analyze the scientific production referred to this topic in Ibero-American countries between 2008 and 2018. By studying the articles published in Portuguese, English and Spanish, the aim is to determine if there is a growth in the amount of publications and examine the aspects regarding the gender of the authors, their collaborations and productivity, as well as the institutions and the journals involved. The results indicate a progressive growth in the amount of research about gender violence, as well as a predominance in the English language for these documents. On the other hand, in reference to the gender, there is a prevalence of women and mixed groups of authors. To conclude, in reference to the authors, institutions and journals, the most prolific ones are Spanish authors and institutions and Brasilian journals
