Abstract

[Abstract] In the present, paper, a study of the relations between mineralizations in tin-tungsten and granitic plutonism in the Western Central Iberian Peninsula are presented, based ongeological and experimental data from many authors and places. The depth of emplacement determines the ore-generating capacity and also sorne deposit c1assifications. The dispersion of Sn and W rock-forming minerals, mainly micas, and also between normal accessory minerals, is determined not only by chemical factors, but also by crystallization features. The granite origin is less important, and there are sorne possibilities; ever intermediate and basic rocks may have high contents of Sn-W. The migration of oreelements, after the available experimental data concerning the manner of transportation, is probable by several mechanism, mainly for the W, as complexes with or without halogens. Finally, the theories from origin of Sn-W, leaching of granitic materials, deep crustal origin, and perfect fractional crystallization, are discussed about its regional applications
