[EN]: The figure and the work of Caesar have been an important point of reference for those that have shown interest in military and political strategy, they have inspired dhandbooks of princes and have played a prominent role in many and varied literary compositions. More precisely, three XVII-century writers dedicate works to Caesar, with different political and literary goals. In this article, a comparative analysis of extracts of the said works is carried out, which allows us to identify to which aspects of Caesar's work the authors give a greater importance and also to conclude that the different approaches to Caesar depend on the predominant interest of each of those works. Rohan is of the opinion that Caesar has all the merits and virtues of a great general that should be included in any military treaty. Bonyères, with a different aim, rewrites Rohan's military content, using the rhetoric of a politician alongside moralising proverbial comments, typical of a real speculum principum Villegas is a sort of compilation of the other two authors, presenting a balanced synthesis of both. He points out and commends the virtues of Caesar identified by the other two authors, but he does it specifically from his condition of soldier and politician: the example of Caesar's actions as a captain can and should be useful to any leader, and they should be acknowledged in any political-military treaty whose aim to help governing both in times of peace and war.
