[EN]: Vitae duodecim Caesarum by Suetonius enjoyed printed editions soon, but there is not a deep philological study to make a fair assessment of the text of these editions, scorned by traditional critical because they depart from recentiores codices. This paper presents the progress of a larger investigation aimed, on one hand, to demonstrate the textual inconsistency between these editions and incunabula, and on the other hand, to try to identify, as far as possible, the text in which they are based. This time we compared a manuscript of the El Escorial Library.
