Procesos de inestabilidad de laderas en la Ruta del Cares, PN Picos de Europa

Abstract

La senda turística peatonal conocida como Ruta del Cares transcurre por el desfiladero del Río Cares, en el Parque Nacional de Los Picos de Europa, entre las provincias de León y Asturias. El recorrido de algo más de 11 kilómetros entre las localidades de Caín, en León, hasta Poncebos, en Asturias es realizado cada año por más de doscientos mil visitantes. El escarpado relieve del entorno con largas y pendientes laderas, la presencia de fauna doméstica y salvaje y la escasez de vegetación hacen que, en ocasiones, realizar el recorrido turístico entrañe cierto peligro asociado a la caída de rocas por gravedad. En este trabajo se presenta un análisis preliminar de los procesos de inestabilidad de ladera ocurridos en la Ruta del Cares y que han podido ser recopilados para el período entre los años 2001 y 2016.
