Características hidroquímicas, tróficas y limnológicas del lago minero Blondis (La Arboleda, Bizkaia)

Abstract

La intensa explotación minera de los yacimientos de Fe en los Montes de Triano, concentrada a fines del s. XIX y principios del XX, pero con referencias que datan desde época romana, configuró un espacio fuertemente antropizado que se ha convertido en la actualidad en una zona verde recreativa gracias al desmantelamiento de las instalaciones y a la ocupación de los huecos por lagos (pozo Ostión, Blondis y Parkotxa entre otros, Fig. 1). Todavía pueden observarse de forma discontinua las mineralizaciones que ocupaban la zona, consistentes en masas de siderita que reemplazan calizas de Rudistas y corales en bancos métricos (Aptiense Inferior), con morfología estratoligada, y que tras intensos procesos de alteración supergénica desarrollaron una potente montera de óxidos e hidróxidos de Fe (hematites, goethita) explotada en su totalidad (Gil et al., NN2)
