[ES]: En este artículo se pretende aportar una visión general de lo que fue la platería en Cuenca en el siglo XVII. Para ello se han tenido en cuenta los problemas económicos, sociológicos y demográficos que surgieron por culpa de la profunda crisis que se inició en el último cuarto del siglo XVI. De esta manera se demostrará, una vez más, que las obras de arte se hacen en un momento determinado y para una sociedad concreta, afectando a los artistas las circunstancias en las que se desenvuelven

[EN]: This article aims to provide an overview about the silversmith in Cuenca in the seventeenth century. In its development the economic, sociological and demographic problems that aroused because of the deep crisis that began in the last quarte of the sixteenth century have been taken into account. This will prove, once again, that the works of art are made at a specific time and for a specific society, affecting the circumstances in which they operate to the artists
