Este trabajo estudia la recepción literaria de Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz en México durante la segunda mitad del siglo XIX a partir de una nueva construcción historiográfica donde la literatura colonial, junto a la memoria del mundo prehispánico, se integran como partes constitutivas de un pasado común. En este modelo explicativo, y desde el auge de las biografías que circulan en la época, se trata la propuesta de Laureana Wright en las Violetas de Anáhuac a raíz de la celebración del centenario del nacimiento de Sor Juana en el Liceo Hidalgo en 1874.
