Los mundos de la ciencia en la Ilustración española

Abstract

Se trata de una obra que ensaya una mirada original sobre la ciencia y la cultura españolas de la Ilustración. El libro está dividido en dos partes. La primera, La ciencia como oficio, muestra el ecosistema que conformaban la novedosa convergencia de actores, prácticas, lugares e instrumentos que se produjo durante el siglo XVIII. En la segunda, La ciencia como cultura, se explora el radical cambio de perspectiva y de imágenes con las que fue mirado y representado el entorno político, social y natural de la época. Se trata de un libro profusamente ilustrado, en donde las imágenes son parte susbtativa (y nunca meramenmte decorativa) y vertebrar del contenido.
