[EN] Mosaics depicting erotes and putti are frequent in Roman Art, particularly those presenting mythological subjects and also daily life scenes, fishing, hunting and circus races. However, most of them are related to aquatic contexts and maritime deities, focusing on the playful side of the images. In a mosaic from Carmona and in some others around the Mediterranean area and the East (II-V a.D) erotes, putti and pygmei are depicted when sailing or windsurfing over wine-amphoras. All those patterns came from bath buildings. Peer reviewed
