Caracterización del geoturista en un geoparque de montaña (Sobrarbe-Pirineos, Huesca)

Abstract

Uno de los factores clave en el diseño de la oferta geoturística de un territorio es el perfil del visitante medio que puede acudir y utilizarla. En este sentido, la accesibilidad de los elementos geológicos visitables es un dato que, habitualmente, se valora positivamente cuanto más fácil resulta. Las áreas de montaña a menudo cuentan con un elevado número de lugares de gran interés y espectacularidad que requieren accesos largos y de un desnivel considerable, lo cual inicialmente puede considerarse como un hándicap. El Geoparque Mundial de la UNESCO Sobrarbe-Pirineos ha apostado por utilizar estos enclaves en el seno de su red de geo-rutas. El análisis preliminar del primer año de descargas de sus materiales correspondientes permite configurar un perfil de geoturista dispuesto a caminar largas distancias para acceder a lugares de interés geológico, acompañado de unos materiales interpretativos de calidad. Los espacios naturales protegidos demuestran ser también un motivo de atracción adicional para el usuario de las rutas.
