La geología estructural y la geomorfología regional como condicionantes del funcionamiento hidrogeológico de los Bajos Submeridionales en el Chaco Austral

Abstract

Hidrográficamente, los Bajos Submeridionales (BBSS) forman parte de la cuenca media e inferior del río Salado, afluente del río Paraná, en la que existen numerosos cuerpos de agua superficial permanentes o semipermanentes que ocupan hoyas de deflación presentes en la suave pendiente regional, característica de las grandes llanuras. Los BBSS forman parte de una gran cuenca sedimentaria que sobrepasa los 5.000 metros de espesor, calculados por sísmica (Pezzi y Mozetic, 1989) y está emplazada sobre rocas de edades paleoproterozoicas (Rapela et al., 2007).
